This is the beginning

This is the beginning

As an artist, and I suspect as a person, I’ve been exploring the uncertain state of reality for a long time, mostly adding to it rather than trying to pin it down. Lately, that’s been shifting into a closer look at how meaning forms through the conditions we build around things: how material, object, and environment begin to depend on one another.

I’m interested in why we’re drawn to collecting or replicating certain things from nature, how we decide what feels real or unusual and what comes to feel valuable, not as fixed qualities but as something that emerges through arrangement, repetition, and context (hoarding is a valid hobby)...

I’m working through carving, casting, and material accumulation, developing surfaces in metal, mineral, and composite forms. I'm growing crystals, soldering...you name it. More processes will emerge but they’re starting to function less as individual objects and more as parts of a growing system: something that sits between installation, collection, and distribution. Things are produced, placed, and moved according to a logic that’s slowly revealing itself.

I’m seeing what gathers, and how it holds together.

Let me know what you’d like to see more of?
